2.  A meeting with TVA, TWRA and TU officers to discuss the South Holston position paper and how to proceed has been scheduled for July 30.

3. 35 people including many Elizabethton High School students worked on May 10 on Buffalo Creek to clean up 50 bags of trash.

4. 125 people worked on the Watauga River on May 17 to clean up 2 & 1/2 tons of trash. There was a 30 second TV spot on WCYB about the clean up. TU also received a very complementary letter from the Elizabethton Chamber of Commerce about the exceptional support of TU in the annual Watauga River clean up. There were 8 TU members who participated in the clean up.

5. Work continues on planning for the South Holston tailwater and lake clean up scheduled for Aug 9. TU will focus on tailwater  clean up below the dam. The TU tent will be put up at 8:00 a.m. and staffed by South Holston Ruritan Club until noon. TU members will provide staffing from noon until 3 p.m.  Afterwards at the Observation Knob recreation area, participants will be provided food, music and door prizes.

11. Ken Chase reported on a very successful youth education seminar on "An  Introduction to Fly Fishing" that he, Lynn Smith and Gary Barrigar presented to 10 students on May 31 at Elizabethton High School. Fly fishing beginner kits from LL Bean and TU National were presented  to two lucky students.
