Fishing the San Juan With Mike Adams
Local fishing
guide Mike Adams will share his knowledge and experience in fishing the
famous San Juan River at the November meeting.
Mike, and his
wife Vicki, are members of the Board of Directors for the Overmountain
Chapter.
According to
Bob Sherrill's atlas, the San Juan flows out of Colorado, into New Mexico
and then Utah. To find out what part Mike will talk about, you'll have
to come to the meeting at the House of Ribs at 7 p.m.

TVA's monitoring
Explained by Kerr
If you've ever
wondered what factors TVA uses in its systematic water release or generating
functions, you missed a great chance to find out if you missed our October
meeting.
TVA's
Randall Kerr explained how TVA monitors water in its reservoirs, tracks
rainfall amounts and determines where and when to release water and/or
generate.
Thanks,
Randall, and come back to see us soon.

Fishing Reports
Nothing beats fishing with a good friend
(The following is an account of a recent fishing trip by Bill Beazell)
I have fished
with Sam Benedict for 35 years, and it's always the highlight of any day.
In May Sam suffered a stroke, and his major question was "Can I fish again?"
Recently Sam, his wife Alice ( who is 94). and I drove to the upper peninsula
of Michigan for another try for a King Salmon. Our headquarters was the
Benedicts' son's home on Lake Michigan's Little Bay de Noc, near Escanaba,
a major papermaking city.
The Upper Peninsula
was ablaze with color, and we saw deer and turkey everywhere. For the first
time I saw a bobcat and her kit, and two immature, all-black bald eagles.
The trip was an interesting and great experience, and there were three
highlights:
¨ the family
reunion of four generations.
¨ Sam's 93rd
birthday.
¨ Sam hooking,(but
losing) a big King Salmon.
Ask Sam for the rest of the story.
